Puppy Diary
	Litha gave birth to 5 healthy pups on Thursday 28 February and even though this is her first litter she has taken to motherhood very well and is constantly cleaning the pups. The first pup was born at 7 A.M and to identify them we tied coloured string round their necks. The first born is identified by the red string and is a bitch and weighed in at 12 ounces. Second born at 7.40 A.M. is identified by the light blue string and is a bitch and weighed in at 12 ounces. Third born at 08.50 A.M. is identified by the pink string (later removed) this is because he is the only boy and the lightest of the litter at 11 ounces. Forth born at 11.40 A.M. is identified by the tangerine string is a bitch and weighed in at 12 ounces. Fifth born at 12.05 P.M. is identified by the dark blue string is a bitch and weighed in at 1 pound and 2 ounces. All the pups have white tips on their tails and 3 have a white chest.

	The puppies were weighed at one week old and all have doubled or almost doubled their weight Red 1 pound 14 ounces Light Blue 1 pound 13 ounces Boy 1 pound 14 ounces Tangerine 1 pound 12 ounces Dark Blue 1 pound 15 ounces. All the puppies have started to open their eyes and are responding to the family's voices, They are also managing to stand on their legs and do the wobble and trying to find out which is their best foot forward. All this is to the great amusement of Rhade who watches these activities with interest and tries to help them with a gentle nudge.
